Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar has issued a stern warning against any attempts to intimidate the Muslim community or incite communal discord. He assured that such acts would face strict action, and those responsible would be punished severely.

Speaking at an Iftar gathering hosted by him in Mumbai, Pawar stressed the need for unity and social harmony. “If anyone dares to intimidate our Muslim brothers and sisters or tries to create communal discord, they will not be spared,” he asserted, reaffirming his commitment to protecting the community.

The NCP leader highlighted the importance of communal harmony, urging people to stand against divisive forces. He emphasized that festivals like Holi, Gudi Padwa, and Eid symbolize togetherness and should be celebrated collectively. “Our real strength lies in unity,” he said.

Drawing inspiration from historical leaders, Pawar stated, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Jyotiba Phule, and others have guided us toward social progress by embracing all religions and castes. We must carry forward this legacy. India stands as a symbol of unity in diversity.”

Reassuring the Muslim community of his support, he reiterated, “Your brother Ajit Pawar is with you. If anyone attempts to create communal disharmony, they will face strict consequences.”

Meanwhile, an Iftar gathering organized by the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) in Delhi witnessed the participation of prominent political figures, including Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi. Other senior leaders, such as Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and SP MP Jaya Bachchan, were also in attendance.

Ramzan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar, is a time of fasting, self-discipline, and spiritual reflection for Muslims. It is observed worldwide through fasting from dawn to dusk, known as Roza, which is one of the five pillars of Islam.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra continues to witness political debates over the Nagpur violence, which erupted amid the Mahayuti government’s demand to remove Aurangzeb’s grave from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Amid mounting opposition criticism, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde defended the government, drawing parallels between himself and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj while accusing the opposition of political opportunism.
